Welcome to Coping Skills for Moms Group, a safe and supportive space for mothers facing mental health challenges or simply seeking to improve their ability to manage the stressors and difficulties of motherhood. Whether you have been diagnosed with depression, anxiety, or postpartum mood disorders or experiencing the everyday challenges of being a mom, our group is here to help.

Our group is facilitated by experienced mental health professional, Claire Whetter, who is dedicated to helping moms like you find the support and resources they need to thrive. We will cover various weekly topics and skills, including managing stress, regulating emotions, mindfulness, and building healthy relationships.
Goals of the group:
- Learn more about mental health and how to manage symptoms
- Learn coping skills to address mental health symptoms
- Increase ability to communicate with partner and children about emotions
- Increase confidence in yourself and your ability to be a parent
- Provide and receive support from other group members
In addition to learning new coping skills, our group provides an opportunity to connect with other moms going through similar experiences. You will have the chance to share your own experiences and challenges and offer and receive support from other group members.
If you are interested in joining our group, please get in touch with us to learn more about our upcoming sessions. Our group is capped at 10 people to ensure each member receives the needed attention and support. We look forward to helping you on your journey toward improved mental health and well-being. Claire Whetter will offer the group on Mondays from 2-3:30 pm. The group will run for six weeks. If members are interested, there may be an opportunity to continue the group after six weeks.

What does the group expect from me?
Your group facilitator's role is to create a safe space to learn and feel supported in your mental health journey. Claire will encourage each group member to be honest, vulnerable, respectful, and supportive to ensure each member can get what they need out of the group. Respecting others, boundaries, and confidentiality throughout the group process is essential to ensure everyone is comfortable sharing their experiences. If you ever feel unsafe during the group, please discuss this with Claire.
Group Fees:
Each group therapy session will cost $50-55 per person (discount for early registration). To ensure members are committed to group attendance and participation, group members will be asked to pay for the first three sessions before the start of the group. The following group sessions are billed via a credit card on file with Shoreside Therapies. In addition, Shoreside Therapies can provide a superbill for you to submit to insurance.
We know that seeking help or support can be challenging, but in our Mom's coping skills group, we are committed to making sure you feel comfortable and understood. So don't wait – call, text, or email Claire today! You deserve better mental health and well-being, and we would love to help you get there.
