Learn How to Start, Maintain and Expand Habits During your Lunch Hour

It's hard to keep up with new habits, especially when you don't know how to start or where to go from there.

You're not alone in this. Most people find it hard to keep up with new habits, especially when they don't know how to get started or where to go from there.

Shoreside Therapies is a habit group that helps you learn new ways to keep your habits and maintain the ones you want. We'll help you understand yourself and get help from others in supporting the practices you want. There are reasons why habits are hard to keep, but it has little to do with willpower- it has more to do with understanding yourself, your personality, roadblocks, and tricks and tips that make the habit fun and rewarding.

Topics:

  • Learning your tendency, using Gretchen Rubin's 4 Tendencies Are you an Upholder, Questioner, Obliger, or Rebel?

Why a group? Can't I just read a book?

You can, and you should read a book:) I find reading books about habits helps me stay motivated. Podcasts can be great too. If you can totally keep habits up on your own, you are good to go! But a group offers you more if you feel reading a book has not been enough.

Here is what a Habit Building Group can offer:

Structure and accountability. Scheduling a time to focus on something makes it more likely you'll do it. Once you've talked about changing your habits with other people, you'll feel accountable to them.

New perspectives. When we think by ourselves for too long, our thoughts become repetitive and stuck. A group uncovers a new understanding of old issues by providing views, asking good questions, offering fresh methods, and listening.

Support. We often feel alone in our struggle to maintain a habit. Leaving us feeling more frustrated and unhappy and sometimes leads into a "bad" habit. Just hearing that other people may experience the same difficulties can be very encouraging. Giving others the support is also very uplifting.

Something enjoyable and different. It's exciting (and sometimes nerve-racking) to do something new and to meet new people. That is a good thing, we build confidence with each new activity. It's especially rewarding when you're talking about a topic as meaningful as your habits.

Distinctions. Knowing yourself is so important. You will learn your tendency and how you are motivated but what is keeps you going. What rewards help?

You will learn PILLARS OF HABITS, why they are important and how to use them to maintain your habits. Monitoring, Foundation, Scheduling, Accountability

If you’re looking for a new way to keep your habits or want help establishing healthy ones, Shoreside Therapies can provide the support you need. Sign up for our group today and let us help you get on the path to success. You won’t regret it!
